Last updated: March 2025. SquadForge is operated by JoyChat Technology Co., Limited.
This page explains how we handle your information when you use the SquadForge app—creating squads, discovering events, posting on the Square, chatting, and using voice or video calls. We only use what’s needed to run the app and improve it, and we don’t sell your data to third parties for their marketing.
What you give us. When you sign up we ask for things like a way to log in, a nickname, profile photo, and optionally gender and birthday. When you use squads, the Square, or events you might add text, photos, videos, team or event details, or a location on the map—we only get camera or photo access if you allow it. If you buy something in the app, the store (e.g. Apple or Google) or our payment partner handles payment details; we may only see that a purchase happened. Messages and call data (who was in a call, how long) are used to provide chat and calls. If you contact support we keep what you send and may review conversations for quality.
What we get from others. Other users might mention you (e.g. adding you to a squad or reporting something). Advertising or analytics partners may pass us limited, non-identifying information.
What we collect from your use. We record how you use the app—which screens you open, when you log in, which teams or events you view, and similar. We also collect technical data: IP address, device type and ID, OS, language, time zone, and ad IDs (you can reset these in your device settings). We only use your precise location if you turn it on (e.g. for setting a squad or event place on the map). Camera and microphone are only used with your permission for calls or uploading media.
Links in the app may take you to other sites or apps. Their privacy rules apply there; we are not responsible for them.
We use the information above to: run your account and the app (squads, Square, discover, events, chat, calls); show your profile and content to others as the app is designed to do; keep your experience consistent across devices when you sign in elsewhere; run promotions and show you relevant offers or ads; understand how the app is used so we can improve it; and to keep the app safe—detecting abuse, fraud, and enforcing our terms. We also use it where the law requires, for example to respond to legal process or protect people’s safety.
Where the law asks for a legal basis: we use your data based on your agreement to our terms, your consent where we ask for it, our legitimate interests in running and improving the app and keeping it secure, and legal obligations. You can withdraw consent by emailing us.
Other SquadForge users see what you choose to share—profile, posts, squad info, and chat—according to how the app works. Please only share what you’re comfortable with.
We work with companies that help us host the app, analyze usage, provide support, run ads, and process payments. They only use data as we instruct and under strict confidentiality. We may share hashed or non-identifying information with ad partners so they can show relevant ads. We do not sell your personal information.
We may disclose information when the law requires it—for example court orders, law enforcement, or to protect safety or rights. We may also share data to enforce our terms, protect users, or investigate fraud, including with moderation or fraud-prevention services. If an account is closed for fraud or harmful behavior we may share IP and device information with those services and keep it as long as needed to protect the app. We may share non-personal, de-identified, or aggregated data in these situations too.
Your data may be stored or processed in your country or in others (such as the United States or Hong Kong) where we or our providers operate. When we send data from the EEA, UK, or Switzerland to countries that haven’t been deemed adequate, we use standard contractual clauses or other approved tools. We keep our transfer arrangements in line with applicable law.
SquadForge is for users 18 and over. You can view, edit, or remove much of your information in the app under account and profile settings. Need help? Email joychathk@gmail.com.
You can ask us for a copy of your personal data, or to correct it, delete it, or object to how we use it—again by writing to joychathk@gmail.com. You can also delete your account from the app (e.g. Me → Settings) or by emailing us. Your device settings let you turn off access to camera, microphone, location, photos, or notifications; some features may stop working if you do.
We may need to verify your identity before handling these requests. We can refuse requests that are illegal, that we can’t verify, or that would affect someone else’s rights. If you’re in the EEA or UK you can complain to your local data protection authority.
We use technical and organizational measures to protect your data from unauthorized access, change, or loss. Like any online service we can’t guarantee that data will never be compromised; we do monitor for issues and may suspend access if we detect a problem. If you think your account or data is no longer secure, tell us at joychathk@gmail.com.
We keep your data only as long as we need it for the reasons above or as the law requires. After you delete your account we may keep some data for a short period (for example up to six months) for safety and security, then delete or anonymize it. We may keep data longer when the law says we must (e.g. certain traffic or consent records), when there’s a dispute, or for fraud prevention and user safety. Support emails may be kept for a few years to handle follow-ups. Anonymized or aggregated data may be kept longer for research. We can’t promise that every copy will be gone by a specific date because of how systems work.
We and our partners may use cookies, pixels, and similar tech for login, preferences, analytics, and advertising. You can limit some of this in your browser or device settings. Some browsers have a “Do Not Track” setting; there’s no common standard for it yet.
If you’re in the EEA or UK we process your data on the basis of: (1) your consent when we ask for it; (2) performing our contract with you (providing the app, account, payments, support); (3) our or others’ legitimate interests (improving the app, security, marketing where allowed), unless your rights override those interests; and (4) legal obligations (e.g. verifying identity).
We may change this policy from time to time. We’ll post the latest version in the app or on our website and update the “Last updated” date. For important changes we may also post a notice in the app or on our website, or notify you as the law requires. If you keep using SquadForge after changes, that counts as accepting the new policy where the law allows. We recommend checking this page from time to time.
